Romeo is a veteran of love, war and Montreal Roller derby. She’s a member of both The New Skids on the Block and Les Filles du Roi, and despite what you might imagine – running into Romeo feels less like romance and more like a brick wall.
Q: How long have you been involved with the sport?

Q: What is your favorite aspect of roller derby?
The physical brutality of it, and the real competitiveness between teams and between players. As the years go by, it makes me want to become better and better as a skater and as a person in this screwed up planet. What makes everything stick together most of all, is the significant friendships I’ve developed along the way (as well as my undying love for Smack Daddy).

And let me tell you – that’s not an easy task – those ladies are wild on and off the track. Mama San is just the person they need to focus on the game and keep everyone cool and confident for the next jam.
