Jess Bandit has been a major figure of MTLRD since its humble beginnings. She was captain of Les Filles du Roi, she is currently co-captain of the New Skids on the Block, she was president of the league from 2008 to 2010, and she still sits on the b.o.d. as the New Skids rep. Above all, she is a true leader and one fantastic roller derby player. We caught up with her to inaugurate the “Featured Skater” of mtlrollerderby.com.

February 17-18-19 will be MTLRD’s first training camp, hosted by the New Skids on the Block. It is with great pleasure that we announce that all the trainee spots were sold out in advance to skaters from Ontario, New England, Quebec and the Maritimes.

 

The week-end will start on a high note at the registration session at Taz, Friday night. At 8pm, the New Skids will take on long time rivals the Boston Massacre. The teams have met four times in the past, and the Skids have only won one of those match ups. However, the last one was … >>>
